Watermelon seed tea

I'm going to try drinking watermelon seed tea. Supposedly it helps get rid of kidney stones and with kidney problems generally (and I have a LOT of watermelon seeds as I'm eating about a kilo of watermelon for breakfast every day).

The recommendation comes from "Edgar Cayce", who it turns out, what was a psychic who discovered cures through psychic readings! Very interesting, though, that I've come across many sources recommending watermelons for kidney problems. I suppose trying the tea is unlikely to cause any harm.

WATERMELON SEED TEA
Watermelon seed tea is a diuretic recommended in the Cayce readings, particularly as a stimulant to cleanse and purify the kidneys and bladder.

INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Watermelon seed tea was specifically recommended by Edgar Cayce for kidney stones. It was also suggested to simulate underactive kidneys.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
No known contraindications.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
At least once a day, three days a week, take watermelon seed tea prepared by pouring a pint of boiling water over a tablespoonful of watermelon seed (ground or cut) and allowing it to steep. Let it cool, then strain and drink. If practical, the tea should be made fresh for each use.

  1. If you are concerned with kidney stones, perhaps you should be looking into a low oxalate diet.

  2. I have been drinking watermelon seed tea for many years for kidney problems. It is great. Doesn't taste great, but will stop the pain of cystitus faster than anything from the drug store.

  3. Today I have decided to take three natural remedies for my uric acid stones which have caused me considerable pain and cost to remove through surgery. Radishes, watermelon and parsley - the last two made into a tea. I will let you know how I get on - if it fails I fear another invasive op looms.

I have just had the "invasive op." a uretoscopy and have a JJ stent in for the next three weeks, I just wish i had found all this cleansing info. prior to the pain crisis.
One thing i can be thankful for is the UK. National Health Service which has provided the operation, all consultations, all medication, all scans (2xCT and 1xRenagram so far) etc. free of charge.

  6. Hello, I also have kidney challenges: stones, adhesion, soreness. I am taking 2 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar in about 1/4 cup of water every day, sometimes 2x's a day. I follow it with 1 cup of fresh water to get the acid out of my mouth. This has helped to dissolve my kidney stones and reduce kidney soreness. I am also eating fresh watermelon, and will also try the watermelon tea. I currently am drinking Banaba tea for kidney stones and kidney health.

  10. I started using watermelon seed tea because I have a cyst on one kidney and am beginning to develop bladder issues. Cleared out swollen lymph glands under the back of my jaw and reduced inflammation of the bladder substantially. Able to feel my kidneys in my lower back again. I expect to see longer term improvements.
